The Palestine Arabs are protesting not at what is happening or has happened, but what they are told will happen, Lord Milner, who recently returned from a visit to Palestine, declared in an address today before the Central Asiatic Society.

The Arabs are being misled, Lerd Milner continued, “by deliberate mischief makers who themselves are frequently not natives of Palestine. These tell the Arabs, the country will be taken away and given to the Jews under a Jewish administration.

“Palestine Arabs should be satisfied with the declaration by Ormsby-Gore, Assistant Colonial Secretary, that immigration of the Jews into Palestine does not involve injury to the Arabs, but rather will promote the development of Palestine”, he said. Otherwise, Lord Milner declared there would be no development of Palestine for decades, perhaps never.

“It is essential that there be a disinterested government in Palestine bent on keeping peace between Jews, Moslems and Christians”, he concluded.
