The Jewish population of Lodz, which has been subjected to numerous minor pogroms during the last few weeks, has began to fear that arrangements are being made to gather up these scattered incidents into a concentrated anti-Jewish attack. Their fears are strengthened by the announcement which has just been made that the Rozwoj is arranging a course of lectures by the notorious “Professor” Jaksa Chamiesz, whose “scientific” lectures on Jews and Judaism and the alleged practice by Jews of ritual murder, caused violent anti-Jewish disturbances last year in Vilna and Cracow.

The Central Union of Jewish merchants has addressed an urgent petition to the Governor, asking him to take immediate steps for the prevention of any disturbances.
