The Cairo press, according to dispatches received here, declares that the League of Nations has rejected the application of King Hussein of Hedjaz for membership in the League after a reconsideration of the application.

The action of the League, it is stated, is due to the refusal of the Hedjaz king to sign the Versailles treaty because of certain clauses contained therein partitioning portions of Arabia.
