Jewish Chatauqua in Thirty-second Annual Conference

The 32nd annual conference of the Jewish Chatauqua Society opened here Sunday night with delegates from 32 cities and 18 states present. Dr. Henry Herkowitz of Philadelphia who founded the Society in 1893 received the tribute of nearly all the speakers.

Miss Jeannette Miriam Goldberg, Secretary, spoke on the progress the Society has made and explained the Society’s work which included the sending of lecturers to speak about the Jews’ work at leading universities and summer schools. Miss Goldberg also told of the Correspondence School for training religious school teachers and the publication of religious text books, and of the establishment and direction of study circles in Jewish subjects.

The conference will continue until December 27th.
