$60,000 Sent for Relief Work in Russia

Mr. Koldowsky, Provisional Director in Russia of the Joint Distribution Committee has received the sum of $60,000 for relief work in Russia. This sum will be distributed among the orphanages and homes for the aged, and will be used for relief work among the intellectuals and other groups.

The J. D. C. is opening in the Crimea a Summer sanatorium with accomodations for twenty Jewish children. Children will be sent to the sanatorium from Leningrad, Moscow, Kiev, Odessa and other large towns. It is expected that during the Summer it will be possible to have several hundred children at the sanatorium.

The J. D. C. is now working in Moscow with a largely reudced staff. Its work in Russia will be terminated completely in July, but a skeleton organization will be maintained for use in connection with the colonization work in the Crimea, which, it is hoped, will be started by the end of the Summer.
