The articles of incorporation of the American Joint Reconstruction Foundation were published here today. The incorporation articles state that the purposes of the foundation are:
(a) To take over all or any part of the funds and property of the unincorporated Association known as “The American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee for the Relief of War Sufferers,” and to use the said funds and property and other funds and property for the time being of the Association and the income therefrom for the relief or benefit to any poor and needy Jews by assisting them to become self-supporting, or in any other manner for their relief or benefit as the Association shall from time to time determine.
(b) To advance money to or for the benefit of poor and needy Jews, and either with or without security, and for like purpose to guarantee the performance of contracts.
(q) To procure the Association to be registered or recognized in any part of the British Empire or in any foreign country or place.
The board of the new foundation will consist of 20 members divided into three classes; six from America, representing the Joint Dis
tribution Committee; six representing the Ica; and eight co-opted by the represented dives of the two aforementioned bodies.
If at any time there shall not be any members of the first group, the powers vested in them shall be exercised by the members of the second group. If there shall not be any members of the second group the powers vested in them shall be exercised by the first groups; and if there shall not be any members in either the first or second group, the powers vested in those two groups shall be exercised by the third group.
The central headquarters of the new foundation will be in Vienna.
