The official opening of the Haifa Technical Institute has been fixed to take place in October. The Board of Governors, of which Sir Alfred Mond, M.P. is President, have delegated Mr. Arthur Blok to superintend the inauguration arrangements and to take over the direction of the Institute for the first year. Mr Blok is on the permanent staff of the London Board of Trade which has granted him leave of absence to enable him to undertake this mission. He is a member of the Council of the Society of Illuminating Engineers and the author of a scientific work on Production.
