Through the generosity of Julius Nastbaum of Philadephia, the Luxembourg Museum in Paris has become the possessor of “Les Andelys at Sunset”, by the American painter, Gilbert White.

The picture was acquired by Mr. Nastbaum who intended to take it to America. Later, however, he decided that a picture so fine should not belong to one person, but should be presented to the public. The Luxembourg Museum was approached and has decided to accept the gift.
