“The increased dimensions which the work of rebuilding Palestine has now assumed, make the continuation and the extension of this work the concern of all Jewry”, declared Professor Albert Einstein who visited here for the purpose of lecturing, in a statement issued to press representatives today.
“The most difficult work in laying the foundation of the Jewish National Homeland in Palestine has been accomplished by the Zionists. The Jews of the United States, Great Britain and Germany should now be prepared to cooperate with the Zionist organization. I expect from Zionism the rebirth of the Jewish people. My Zionism dates from before my visit to Palestine”, Professor Einstein stated. “What I have seen in Palestine gives me an indestructible belief in the success of the Jewish colonization of the country. The present development has assumed overwhelming proportions.
“The Arab problem does not endanger the development of the Jewish National Home. The more the country will develop, the larger will be the possibilities of understanding between the Arabs and the Jews.
“Palestine, once rebuilt as a cultural center, will fortify the position of the Jews all over the world, both morally and politically”, Professor Einstein concluded.
Professor Einstein gave a reception at his hotel to many of his friends. Among the guests invited were the well-known writers, Arthur Schnitzler, Felix Salten, the poet Beerhoffmann and others. Professor Einstein is leaving tomorrow for Innsbruck where he will attend the Congress of Natural Scientists.
