President Loeb of the Thuringian State Bank was arrested here today following his letter of resignation to the Thuringiah Finance Minister.

The Right Party in the Thuringian Diet has started a political campaign against the President of the State Bank, because he is a Jew. The investigation ordered by the Government proved his administration of the Bank irreproachable and the government asked him to remain in office. He, however, declined, claiming that under such anti-Semitic pressure he was unable to carry on the work.

His arrest was made on the charge that he attempted to remove important state documents from the bank.
