Among the resolutions adopted by the Conference of the Central Council of the Agudas Yisroel Organization recently concluded here, is one dealing with the work in Palestine, which says:
The Central Council calls upon every Agudist to acquire during the month of Tishri at least one square metre of land in Palestine for himself and the male members of his household, to the value of one shilling. The names of all purchasers will be entered in the Sepher Hajishub. The land so purchased will be administered by the Palestine Central Office of the Agudas Yisroel. The first settlement of the Agudas Yisroel in Palestine will be named “Agudas Yisroel”. A building will be erected in Jerusalem to serve as the headquarters of the Augdas Yisroel in Palestine, but primarily for the purpose of a first home for Agudist immigrants to Palestine.
On the subject of the Palestine Communities Ordinance, the Conference decided: The Communities Ordinance is not a local but a general question, affecting the whole of Diaspora Jewry. The Communities Ordinance of the Jewish National Council is in basic contradiction to the principles of the Torah and it is impossible, therefore, to give consent to this Ordinance. This Conference draws the attention of world Jewry to the fact that it lodges its protest against the ratification of the Draft Ordinance of the Jewish National Council.
