Thousands of Jewish workers are among the 15,000 affected by the critical situation in the diamond industry here.

By a decision of the Employers Association, in agreement with the Workers’ Syndicate, work in the whole industry will be stopped on July 11, in protest against the South African Senate’s Bill limiting the alluvial diamond production.

It is expected that Amsterdam will join in the protest.
