The annual campaign of the United Palestine Appeal here was brought to a close last night with a total of $215,000 of its quota of $300,000 raised.

The general economic depression and the failure of some of the older members of the Jewish community to cooperate was given as the reason for the failure to reach the quota by Rabbi Max D. Klein. campaign chairman.

The cash collections were pointed to as unusually high, upwards of $85,000 being received, an increase of $13,000 over last year. A check for $100,000 was given to Dr. Weizmann when he opened the campaign here on May 6.

Benjamin L. Rubinsohn. Chairman of Region 4, presided at the dinner closing the drive. Rabbi Klein, Mrs. Frank B. Skversky, chairman of the Women’s Division, Robert M. Bernstein, chairman of the Philadelphia Campaign Committee, Judge William M. Lewis. national chairman of the United Palestine Appeal and Benjamin Schwartz were the speakers.
