The demand that the Moscow Great Synagogue be converted into a workingmen’s club, made by Jewish Communists, was rejected by the Soviet authorities.

Further conversion of synagogues into workmen’s clubs is considered inadvisable by the authorities, the correspondent of the Jewish Telegraphic Agency here learns.
