While Palestine Jewry continued to give vent to their feeling in the much discussed question of the Jewish right of access to the Western Wall of the Temple, known as the Wailing Wall, the Moslem Arabs contesting this right continued the building operations on the Wall started at the beginning of this week. The building work is being carried on the top of the left side of the Wall.
Presentations made by Col. Frederick H. Kisch, political representative of the Zionist Executive and by the Vaad Leumi, National Council of Palestine Jews, brought no result.
A session of the Vaad Leumi was held today to consider the situation. A stormy discussion developed when M. M. Ussishkin, well known Zionist leader and head of the Jewish National Fund, demanded of the Council that “bold action be taken to stop the building operations.” Vladimir Jabotinsky proposed that Palestine Jews through their National Council set up a permanent agency for carrying on political work in London and Geneva, in addition to the political department of the Zionist Executive. No decision was reached. Another session of the Council was called for Sunday, October 21.
