A number of Jewish families residing in Latvia have been adversely affected by the recent order of the Soviet authorities prohibiting money to be sent out of the country.

It was stated that hundreds of Jewish families here, whose children live in Russia, depend largely on the financial support received from that country.

A fund to lend assistance to transmigrant rabbis was established here by Rabbi Schneursohn, the Lubawitscher Rebbe.
