Jewish Section of Communist Party Condemns Jews for Retaliations (Jewish Telegraphic Agency)
Further cases of friction between Jewish and Russian workers in Soviet factories are being reported in the Moscow press.
The newspapers state that the Uritzk District Attorney started an investigation into charges of mistreatment by Russian workers of their Jewish fellow-worker, Berelson, in a local factory. Berelson’s complaints were hitherto ignored. Several workers have been discharged and one workers, who witnessed the persecutions, was expelled from the Communist party.
An investigation ordered by the authorities in the Uliadove sugar factory confirmed the charges of mistreatment of Jewish workers. Several Russian workers were arrested.
The “Tverskaya Pravda” reports the case of a Jewish boy in a local school who was persecuted by three Russian pupils. The teachers as well as the head of the school sought to hush up the case.
The Jewish Section of the Communist Party at Orsha adopted a resolution condemning the two Jewish workers, Bodonin and Todenko, for their acts against several workers in the factory in retaliation for the Barshay affair.
