Judge May Retires from Federation Presidency

Justice Mitchell May, who has served four terms as president of the Brooklyn Federation of Jewish Charities will retire when his present term expires at the end of this month, according to an announcement from Federation headquarters.

Nathan D. Shapiro, Brooklyn attorney, has been nominated to succeed Justice May. Mr. Shapiro has been a member of Federation’s Board of Directors for the past six years. He is First Vice-president of the Brooklyn Jewish Center, and has been active in communal and philanthropic work in Brooklyn for the past twenty years.
