The Jewish population of Palestine is highly satisfied with the regime of the new High Commissioner, Sir John Chancellor, stated Rabbi Meier Berlin, president of the Mizrachi, Orthodox Zionist Organization, upon his arrival yesterday in New York.

Rabbi Berlin came for a several months’visit for the purpose of aiding the American Mizrachi in its work. He will also tour the country in the interests of the United Palestine Appeal.

The opinion in Palestine is that Sir John is the best High Commissioner England has ever sent to Palestine. He takes a deep interest in the progress of the country. His first step to reduce the tariff is the best indication of his policy, he stated.

Asked concerning the extension of the Jewish Agency, the Mizrachi leader stated that as the events are unfolding, the result is that the Jewish Agency is the only hope that could be entertained for the speedy rebuilding of Palestine.
