Inquiry at the White House by the representative of the Jewish Daily Bulletin concerning the Berlin report, brought forth the statement that no confirmation or denial would be issued, and the additional statement that no announcements of ambassadorial rank will be made in the near future. The same applies to the recent report that Albert Ottinger, Republican candidate for Governor of New York in the recent campaign, is being considered for appointment as United States Ambassador to Madrid or Rome.
