The desecration of the synagogue at Warta, near Lodz, caused the local rabbis to proclaim a day of prayer and fasting. The synagogue, was invaded during the night, the ark of the scroll smashed, five Holy Scrolls torn up and the furniture destroyed. It was found that the vandalism was perpetrated by a non-Jewish maniac.
