4 Jews Named to Religious Peace Conference

Four Jewish representatives have been selected to join the preliminary conference of the Universal Religious Peace Conference sponsored by the Carnegie Foundation which will meet at Frankfurt-on-Main. August 19-23 of this year. They are Dr. Joseph H. Hertz, Chief Rabbi of the British Empire, and Senator Rubenstein of Vilna, representing European Jewry, and Dr. Stephen S. Wise and Dr. D. de Sola Pool, representing American Jewry.

The committee consists of seventy men representing nineteen of the world’s religions. The preliminary conference will arrange for the Universal Religious Peace Conference to be held in 1930, will name a world committee of one thousand and decide on a place of meeting. The purpose of the conference and the subsequent congress is to awaken public opinion and to influence the population of the world towards peace through religion.
