Dr. Harris Boomed for New York Mayor

Dr. Louis I. Harris, former Health Commissioner of New York City, is being put forward as a suitable fusion candidate for Mayor. Choice of Dr. Harris, a Democrat, is being urged upon Republican leaders.

Dr. Harris is said by friends to be in a receptive mood. His experience of over 21 year in the Health Department is urged as a qualification for him. The Bronx County Republican Committee is expected to declare itself in favor of fusion. Manhattan and Brooklyn have already reached such a decision.

The United Palestine Appeal for Toronto’s quota of $75,000 will begin on Sunday. June 16. The campaign will be opened with a banques at the Royal York Hotel with Nahum Sokoloff as the principal speaker.
