The Polish weekly, “Wiadomosci Literckie,” literary journal, publishes in its current issue an appeal to Polish writers by M. Filosofow, a Russian, editor of the Russian daily, “Za Swobodu,” urging them to take a stand against the Lemberg events. Expressing surprise that so far Polish writers have remained silent, the Russian editor recalls that during the anti-Jewish disturbances in Russia under the Czar the Russian writers protested vigorously.
