Austrian Government Honors Rosenwald

The Grand Insignia of Honor of the Austrian government was conferred upon Julius Rosenwald in recognition of his “valued services rendered” in the promotion of industrial museums in Europe.

Former Judge Michael F. Girton, Austrian Consul here, presented Mr. Rosenwald with a gold medal bearing a white swastika and the Austrian flag. The presentation ceremony took place on Friday at the Mid-Day Club.

Mr. Rosenwald was the principal most at a dinner held Friday night at the Standard Club in celebration of he completion of the $3,000,000 Michigan Boulevard Garden Apartments, a model housing project for negroes, sponsored by Mr. Rosenwald.
