Judge William M. Lewis of Philadelphia was again elected Grand Master of the Independent Order of Brith Sholom at the 25th annual convention of the Order meeting here. The nomination of Judge Lewis was upheld by a tremendous ovation. Moses Helfgart was named vice-Grand Master and Martin O. Levy of Philadelphia was re-elected Grand Secretary.

The following state deputies were chosen: Morris Orenstein, New York; Peter Lippman, Trenton, N. J.; Max Epstein, Pittsburgh; S. Gittlis, Chicago; Harry Dermar, Detroit; Meyer Weintraub, St. Louis and Wm. Weinblatt, Baltimore.

The presidential recommendation that all members of the Brith Sholom join the Zionist Organization was adopted. The Allied Jewish Campaign was unanimously endorsed. A resolution calling for aid to the Hias was approved but one asking help for the American Jewish Congress was tabled. Considerable time was devoted to a discussion of the Order’s insurance problems. New classes of membership were created.
