Headed by A. J. Kempner, of Little Rock, leader in all philanthropic effort by the Jews of that state, Arkansas Jewry is making preparations for a drive for the Allied Jewish Campaign to begin on October 15 and terminate on November 1.

Associated with Mr. Kempner, who is the chairman of the Arkansas Allied Jewish Campaign, are Sam J. Storthz, state vice-chairman; M. L. Altheimer, treasurer and S. Lasher Ehrman, secretary. The executive committee is composed of Leo Pfeifer, Rabbi Ira E. Sanders, I. Goldberg, L. M. Samuels, Sam Grundfast, I. L. Safferstone, Herbert Wolf and Ike Kempner. Harry B. Solmson is chairman for Little Rock. The goal of the Arkansas drive is $36,000.

Enthusiasm for the impending campaign was aroused by the rebroadcasting through the entire state of Arkansas of the addresses delivered at the testimonial meeting in honor of Felix M. Warburg, in New York City on May 27. The rebroadcasting in Arkansas of this historic function was arranged for by chairman Kempner, M. L. Lasher and Leo Pfeifer, all three of whom are veterans of every campaign that has been conducted in this country for the relief of stricken oversea Jewry.
