The Argentine government today took under advisement a plan to stop all immigration to this country from Europe for at least six months in view of the widespread economic depression and the prevalence of unemployment. The proposal of Brazil to ban immigration for six months has made government circles here fearful that immigrants destined for Brazil would be diverted to the Argentine.

While all of the leading papers here but La Prensa are demanding immigration restriction, the HICEM, the world Jewish immigration organization, has issued a warning to Jews not to emigrate to the Argentine until economic conditions here improve.
