More than 150 Jewish men and women sailed for Palestine Thursday on the S. S. Providence to become middle-class settlers in Eretz Israel. This is the largest group of this type that has ever gone at one time from this country and they are taking with them a total capital of well over one-half million dollars for investment purposes.

The group was tendered a farewell reception at the 92nd St. Y.M.H.A. prior to their departure under the auspices of the Zionist Organization of America and were addressed by Harry P. Fierst, treasurer of the Zionist Organization of America; Dr. S. Bernstein, director of the Palestine bureau of the Zionist Organization of America; Nahum Liphshitz, representative of the Manufacturers’ Association of Palestine and Isaac M. Allen, Nasi of the Order Sons of Zion.
