One of U.S. Oldest Jewesses Dead in Minneapolis at 105

Mrs. Sarah Silverman, one of the oldest Jewish women in the United States, is dead here at the home of her daughter Mrs. Sarah Horowitz, on her 105th birthday.

Born in Warsaw shortly after Napoleon made his famous retreat from Moscow, Mrs. Silverman came to Minneapolis 25 years ago, bringing her 12 children from Russia. Only two of her children survive her. Her daughter and a son, Louis Silverman, have lived in Minneapolis for 25 years.

Mrs. Silerman is also survived by forty-eight grand children, fifteen great grand children and one great great grand child. Mrs. Silverman’s father, David Hersch, died 45 years ago in Warsaw at the age of 116 years.
