An increased gendarme force and a government investigation of the growing anti-Jewish incitement in Jassy were promised yesterday by Minister of Interior Mihalache after a delegation consisting ofg the Jewish Deputies Josef Fischer and Mishu Weissman, and the secretary of the Jewish Party, Stern had submitted a memorandum to him and to Premier Maniu.

The Jewish delegation declared that attacks upon Jews have become a commonplace in Jassy. The attack upon a Jewish charity ball in which forty Jews were injured last Sunday constitutes but a single incident in a series of provocations, the memorandum declares.

Jewish passersby were maltreated daily in the streets. Jewish owners of stores are constantly terrorized. Only recently a Jewish student, Puju Solomon, sustained serious head injuries at the hands of anti-Semites. The authorities, the Jewish deputation charged, have remained passive in the face of all these incidents.
