Rabbi Milton Steinberg of Temple Rodeph Sholom and author of the new book, “Making of the Modern Jew” spoke yesterday on the same topic before the historical and discussion group of the congregation.

The speaker analyzed the political, social, religious, intellectual and economic importantce of the Jew during the middle agaes. He then traced the emancipation of the Jew throught the Freanch Revolution. illustrating the Wanderer’s transition from hoary orthodoxy to modern civilization, with examples of Bialik’s and Feierberg’s works.
