–The semiofficial Herzog news agency announced that the “Legion of Loyal Austrian Jews” had addressed a communication to Chancellor Engelbert Dollfuss demanding that he issue an order banning all foreign journalists who come to Austria for the purpose of investigate the situation of the Austrian Jews. The group demanded that foreign journalists be detained at the Austrian border and not be admitted if they avowed that their purpose was to study the Austrian Jewish position.
Der Stimme, organ of the Austrian Zionists, in commenting on the story, declared that there was no such Jewish group in Austria and demanded to know what was behind the report.
