A protest against the printing of anti-Jewish poems and the circulation of the “ritual murder” issue of the Danzig ###tuermer was delivered today to Dr. Hermann Rauschnig, Nazi president of the Danzig Senate, by the president of the Jewish community.

Dr. Rauchnig’s attention was called to the fact that Nazi bands roam the streets of Danzig shouting, “Death to the Jews,” and that Jewish pedestrians are not safe. The Nazi chief of the Danzig government was asked to guarantee full protection for the Jews.

Despite the fact that Danzig is a free city and the League of Nations and the Polish government both have a voice in the government of the city, an election held there less than a year ago returned a Nazi majority and the government of the city passed into the hands of the Nazis.
