Judge Otto Rosalsky was appointed mediator in the poultry market difficulties by Mayor La-Guardia yesterday.

He immediately swung into action by calling a conference of wholesalers, commission merchants and slaughterers in his chambers in the Criminal Courts Building for 3 p. m. today to avert a threatened strike by the poultry slaughterers.

Arthur Simon, who will remain the Mayor’s personal advisor during the difficulties, was ordered to place himself at the disposal of the mediator. At a press conference the Mayor made the formal announcement as follows:

“Shochtim called on me yesterday and told me that a strike was threatened. To meet this contingency, I have appointed Judge Otto Rosalsky to mediate the difficulties.”

Spokesmen for the poultry slaughterers and the market owners expressed themselves completely satisfied with the selection
