Palestine Prosperity Lures Arab Capital from Syria

The flight of Arab capital and industry from Syria to Palestine is growing larger and there are increasing signs that the Syrian merchants are taking a great interest in this country whose popularity, compared to the backward condition of their own country, has attracted the attention of the entire Near East.

Twenty Syrian merchants have left Damascus for Palestine within the past week. A famous Damascus candy manufacturer has shifted his machinery to Palestine. The local press in Damascus is clamoring for a high tax on those seeking permits for a transfer of place of business
