The Nazi movement in Austria is doomed. That is the opinion expressed here today by Dr. Edgar L. G. Prochnik, Austrian Minister to the United States.

Basing his prediction on the fact that Prince Starhemberg, newly appointed Chancellor to replace the slain Chancellor Dollfuss, is known as the leading opponent of Austrian Nazification, the minister said that from this date the Nazi movement would steadily diminish in strength and finally fade out altogether.

When informed of the Dollfuss assassination, Dr. Prochnik was at his vacation home in Rehoboth Beach, Del. He immediately returned to the legation to keep in close touch with developments in Vienna.

Although he refused to be pinned down on the subject, the minister indicated that be believed Germany had at least “morally instigated” the recent events.
