The plans and purposes of the forthcoming all-Jewish Conference for Palestine, which is to be called by the Zionist Organization of America in the Fall, were the principal subjects of discussion at a conference of the New York Zionist Region held here yesterday and today.
The parley took place at the Region’s summer home in Camp Livingston and was attended by 100 Zionists from New York and vicinity.
The delegates heard addresses by Abraham Goldberg and Morris Margulies, who stressed the importance of the gathering as an aid to removing the barriers to a larger Jewish immigration into Palestine as well as in mobilizing all organized forces of American Jewry in support of the Zionist movement.
The conference decided to organize a permanent Zionist camp to serve also as a “hachsara” for American chalutzim.
Impressive Sabbath services, Palestine music, a theatrical performance and Melave Malke celebration Saturday night under the direction of Moe Kaplan were part of the program. Conference arrangements were in charge of Sigmund Thau.
