Youngstown rabbis hurled a challenge to religion to “break away from a decaying economic order of profit and exploitation” as 5,000 Jews celebrated Yom Kippur here.

“Religion must bring about radical changes in business, government and education or it will perish. The American force of organized religion object to the violent methods of Soviet Russia, but they are not effectively applying non-violent methods of their own,” said Rabbi I. E. Philo of the Rodef Sholem Temple.
