Keren Hayesod (Palestine Foundation Fund) receipts for the year 5694 amounted to £201,000 (over $1,000,000) of which £3,000 was contributed by the Arlosoroff memorial fund and £5,000 raised by special drives. In addition, the sum of £33,000 was forwarded for German Jewish settlement by the United Palestine Appeal in America. Excluding the latter sum, receipts have grown since the previous year by £31,000.
The fund, the report just issued states, received £7,250 from self-imposed taxation from 15,000 Palestinians. Institutions gave £1,500. The deduction of one penny per pound by banks and theatres to aid the fund produced £2,400. The Golden Book and school collections each netted £1,000.
