The fact that Nablus is still without electricity has caused Syrian manufacturers to reverse their previous decision to establish factories there, it is reported by Al Islamia, Arab publication.

Manufacturers of textiles and sweets had decided to transfer their business to Nablus because of the cheap labor available. But as their machines require electric power, the move is impossible, it is said.

Although Nablus residents have long demanded that the Palestine Electric Corporation should be asked to electrify the town, the Municipality has not seen its way to accede to the demand.
