Russian Skull Duggery—2—30 Tem The Decay of Czarism. By Alexander B. Tager. Philadelphia:

The Jewish Publication Society.

As one of its publications of this year, the Jewish Publication Society of America has issued Alexander B. Tager’s “The Decay of Czarism.” This is a highly documented work that portrays the part played by the Czarist government in provocation of the Beiliss trial. It reveals the attempt to arouse Russia and the world against the Jews as a last death gasp of the reactionary Romanoff dynasty. Nothing was too low, even the “ritual murder” calumny, for Rasputin is revealed as the motivating force behind the Czar’s persecution of the Jews through Beiliss.

This volume is particularly appropriate this year when a Swiss Court has adjudged the alleged “Protocols of the Elders of Zion” a blatant forgery and a libel against the Jews. That libel, which had begun to plague the Jews as had the ritual murder story for so many centuries, is buried for once and all, it is hoped.

The documents revealed in Mr. Tager’s volume prove the injustice inflicted upon Russian justice by a group of cruel anti-Semites. They lend further credence to the already proven thesis that the “Protocols” were forged by the Russian government to provoke feeling against the Jews.
