Dr. Joseph H. Hertz’s 25th anniversary as Chief Rabbi of the British Empire was celebrated by the Jewish Theological Seminary today with a broadcast over station WHN. Rabbi Hertz was the Seminary’s first graduate.
Dr. Elias L. Solomon of Congregation Shaare Zedek, Dr. Emanuel Libman of Mt. Sinai Hospital and Rabbi David de Sola Pool of the Spanish and Portuguese Synagogue, spoke on Dr. Hertz’s career and achievements. Congratulatory messages from British Ambassador Sir Ronald Lindsay and others were read.
