Extent of Nazi propaganda in Hungary was revealed today during a discussion in the Chamber of Deputies of a bill imposing fines on illegal associations.
Karl Peyer, leader of the Social Democratic party, charged that secondary schools throughout the nation were completely Nazified, with teachers preaching hatred of Jews to their pupils. He asserted that Nazi agitators were appealing to the lowest instincts of the masses, promising executive jobs to adherents after the Nazi revolution.
A proposal to ban use of the cross in political badges was withdrawn by deputy Reibel, Christian Socialist, when he was informed of the Government’s intention to introduce a similar measure.
