The sincere sympathy and deep concern of “Your Majesty’s loyal Jewish subjects” was conveyed today to King George VI in a telegram from Dr. Israel Brodie, Chief Rabbi of the British Empire. The Chief Rabbi in formed the King that he had called on Jews throughout the British Commonwealth to offer prayers for his complete recovery and his enjoyment of full health and happiness for years to come. The King’s private secretary, replying to the telegram, said that “the King much appreciates your king telegram.”
