Israel Will Support Mexican President As Candidate for Nobel Prize

Israel will support the candidacy of President Miguel Aleman of Mexico for the 1951 Nobel Peace Prize, it was announced here today by Dr. Moshe Toff, Israel’s diplomatic representative.

Speaking to representative of the Mexican press, Dr. Toff praised President Aleman for Mexico’s stand at the United Nations in pursuing world peace. Dr. Toff was received by Finance Minister Ramon Beteta and by Senator Antonio Bermudez, director of “Pemex,” the government office dealing with oil problems. It is understood that Israel seeks to buy crude oil in Mexico for the Haifa refineries.
