Threats against Israel were contained in resolutions adopted in Beirut by the first conference for “the defense of the rights of the peoples of the Near and Middle East” which was attended by 100 Arab leaders from various countries. An attack was made by resolution against the American Point Four program.

The conference resolved: “To call on the Arab governments and peoples not to cooperate with imperialism in solving the Palestine question and questions which stem from it, and to take joint action to recover for the Arabs their precious homeland. We affirm that the final solution of the Palestine question is closely linked to the liquidation of imperialism.”

It was resolved that the Point Four program of the United States in the Arab world be cancelled “and similar programs of exploitation” be ended “now that it has become clear that these are an indivisible part of the plans of imperialism to establish military bases and to form aggressive blocs.”
