Samuel Engel Elected President of Brandeis Institute of California

Samuel G. Engel, 20th Century-Fox motion picture producer, has been elected president of Brandeis Institute, at a meeting which took place in Beverly Hills. Lester M. Finkelstein, president of the organization last year, was elected treasurer, replacing Judge Joseph J. Rifkind who was elected a vice president.

Brandeis Institute, located on 2,200 acres near Santa Susana, 35 miles northwest of Los Angeles, carries a year-round program of Jewish educational, cultural and religious activities. Established in the east in 1941 as a summer camp program for college level youth, it moved to its present location in 1948. Its executive director since its inception, Dr. Shlomo Bardin, was re-elected secretary at the annual meeting.
