Israel Minister Predicts $500, 000, 000 in New Foreign Investments

Additional foreign investments, totaling $500, 000, 000 to $600, 000, 000 in the next five years, were predicted today by Pinhas Sapir, Minister of Commerce and Industry, on his return from a tour of Europe and North America

Among the future projects he listed by the Minister were a $12, 000, 000 expansion in the Rogosin synthetic fiber plant at Ashdod; an increase in the investment capital of the Sam Rothberg Investment Corporation by the addition of $8, 000, 000 to $10, 000, 000 to the present capital; an increase in American investments in Frutarom of $3, 500, 000.

Also a $10, 000, 000 investment over a three-year period by the British Wolfson-Clore-Meyer Corporation, anticipated sale of $10, 000, 000 worth of stock of the Israel Industrial Development Bank in the United States and a doubling of the present 1, 000, 000 pound sterling ($2, 800, 000) investment of the Anglo-Israel Securities.
