More then 780 books of Jewish interest published in the United States, Israel and Great Britain during the year ending May 1963, are listed and briefly described in Volume 21 of the Jewish Book Annual, a yearbook of Jewish literary creativity just published by the Jewish Book Council of the National Jewish Welfare Board.
The 243-page volume, unique in that it has articles printed in three languages–English, Hebrew and Yiddish–is one of the media through which JWB and its Jewish Book Council promote an interest in and appreciation of Jewish literature. The books are divided into seven bibliographies covering the following areas: American Jewish non-fiction; American Jewish fiction; American Jewish books for children; American Hebrew books; American Yiddish books; Anglo-Jewish books, and selected books of Israel.
The Archive of the Jewish Telegraphic Agency includes articles published from 1923 to 2008. Archive stories reflect the journalistic standards and practices of the time they were published.
